Congratulations Kelsie!

Saturday evening Schaun and I watched (from very high) as his sister, Kelsie, received her high school diploma. Wow! I can only hope that my girls will take after their Aunt Kelsie, in many ways, but especially academically. It is still soaking in that little Kelsie just graduated from high school! She was around 5 years old when I became part of the family and met her. Time flies!

Congratulations Kelsie! I wish you the very best. You absolutely deserve it!

I didn't take the Rebel with me, just my little Canon. It is so slow that I missed her actual walk! Look at that big class of graduates! They were a rowdy bunch too. I lost count of how many beach balls and balloons the "graduate guards" took away during the ceremony--it was entertaining.

Cards

Here are some cards I made for a card swap.

Party Time!

Becca's 4th birthday party was so much fun! We had a magician/balloon artist come to entertain the kids and he was so great! The kids and adults all enjoyed his performance. Becca received some fantastic presents from friends and family, thank you to everybody! She wanted a Thomas the Train theme and she was so happy about her cake. I hope everybody enjoyed the time as much as we did!

Becca's end of year picnic

Yesterday was the end of the year picnic for Becca's school. The weather wasn't sunny and great, but it didn't rain. Becca had lots of fun running around with her best buddy Caden. It is amazing how brave she was with her friends compared to at home.

Things that make me laugh

I was looking at the presents we are giving Becca for her birthday. Here is why I laugh.

Lots of Thomas the Train stuff. She had never seen any Thomas show before we VERY recently borrowed a tape from the library . This was AFTER she requested a Thomas themed party.

Geo Tracks stuff. This makes sense as she got a great set at Christmas and she wants to add to it.

Dora Leapster game. Dora is a constant in her life.

Ready for more?

Shirley Temple dvd's. Yep, we see commercials for these shows and she LOVES them.

Other things she would like (that I'm pretty sure she will get) are her OWN Dr. Suess books, a golf toy, the Bee movie, oh and a calculator.

Bridget is almost always straight forward Barbie, princess, fairy, girly, girl stuff. It is much harder to keep up with Becca.

Random things

1. Today is Schaun's birthday, Happy Birthday to my hubby! He took the day off and it looks like it is going to be a nice one.

2. Saturday is Becca's birthday party at 11:00(her actual day is Sunday). I did not mail out invites, so if you didn't get one, don't feel bad--no one did. I think it is covered though. Saturday is actually my nephew Max's birthday. So much to celebrate in May and so little weekends!

3. I have the permit and have chatted with the fence guy. He said he would be out this week, but I have not seen any sign of him yet. Hopeful that he will get out here today and start.

4. I'm been thinking a lot about what to plant around the house. I've been watching the light and paying attention to water levels in the yard. It is very, very wet here. There are no flower gardens, so we will be starting from scratch.

5. I am getting the painting bug. When we moved, we did the bedrooms and basement. I have blank slates in the living room, dining/playroom, kitchen, and bathrooms. We are thinking that chalkboard paint in the playroom would be fun. I need to know if that is easy to cover though. Someday it will return to a dining room again and I don't think I will want a chalkboard in it.

6. I am becoming increasingly unpopular with the neighborhood brats. I have raised some issues with their moms (some with intent and another just fell in my lap so to speak). Schaun said we will likely be targeted for tee-peeing. The kids that I have issues with are only 10 or so, maybe by the time they are old enough to be loose at night they will have forgot about these things.

7. I need new tires on my van. I HATE spending money on cars.

8. I wish my digital photo frame was set up. (hint hint)

9. The girls dance recital is in a couple weeks. Bridget and her class seem to know their dance fairly well. Becca's class is another story. I guess it is good they are small and cute regardless of what they do on stage. I am irritated with her teacher --the kids might be able to learn the dance if she showed up to teach it consistently. I am not so impressed with the dance school overall. We are moving to a different place next year.

10. The start of peer pressure. Bridget asked me yesterday if I would buy her some Crocs "because everybody else at school has them".

I thought I forgot

I was starting to think I forgot how to scrapbook, but it came back to me. Here is what I made last night. It says "If you ask her, she will tell you that she doesn't like the "Re" of Rebecca, she is Just Becca.

Just so pretty!

Friday the girls looked so pretty before heading off to school! I couldn't resist some photos.

Spring House

I want to do a four seasons layout of the house. Here is my Spring photo. I am so excited that we have this pretty tree out front.

Nothing exciting to report

Not much going on around here. Just the normal day to day, nothing to complain about sort of stuff. That's really a good thing. The girls are totally loving having the little girl behind us to play with. It is nice for me too. They go over and play, they are out of the house for hours at a time, and then they are tired at night.

We did have an incident with the dog today. Our dog Belle, gave Becca a pretty good nip on the face. A few years back Bridget kept blowing in Belle's face. After repeatedly being told not to do that and what Belle could do--Belle did it. She gave Bridget a warning nip. She didn't break the skin, in fact I don't think there was even a mark on her. It did scare her and she has never done stuff like that again. I guess this is a lesson that must be learned the hard way. Becca thinks it is fun to yell and pounce at the dog. Belle doesn't think this is much fun. To make matters worse, Belle is getting a little hard of hearing and she doesn't seems to know what's going on around her all the time. So when Becca pounces at her, it is a disaster waiting--oh, no more waiting, it did happen today. Belle got her on the face. She didn't break the skin, but it is bruised. Ugh. I guess some people would be angry at the dog, but I see this as all Becca's fault. She is a smart kid and she has been warned over and over not to do stuff like this. Bridget has told her what happened to her, but yet, she continued. I hope she learned this lesson.

Wii Mario Kart

When we bought the Wii I wanted Mario Kart, but it wasn't available. Yesterday I saw that it was released. So I (literally) made everybody drop what they were doing and we raced (hehe) out to Nebraska Furniture Mart (because they had a special deal on it) to pick it up. We got the last one available until more was pulled from the stock room. Whoo-hoo! I played it all day and night. Bridget tried to play with me. I am not good and she is worse, so we are a great pair. So much fun though!

I know, I know.........Kerry, make up your mind!

Okay, I have been struggling with this. When to have Becca's party? I have posted here, I have chatted with people, I have sent emails. I have changed my mind about 47 times. It is final now:

May 10th at 11:00.
There will be some really fun entertainment.
You won't want to miss it!
The kids are going to love it!

Congratulations!!!!!

The twins were born yesterday. Everybody is healthy and happy. Dennis was born at 7:40 and weighed 7-13, Daniel was born 24 minutes later at 8:04 and weighed 6-11. Those are some big twins! Dennis is bigger than either of my girls were as singles. Kudos to Tonya for giving her twins such a great start to life. And just a note, the babies do not have middle names yet.

We went to visit the family last night. We got there just as Tonya's parents arrived with Delainey, Kynzie, and Max. I don't think Kynzie could be any more excited. She sort of indicated, in a not subtle sort of way, that these were HER babies. Bridget, as usual, held them, but she is not into babies. She thinks they are sort of gross with the diapers, poop, and spit-up. One of the babies had some spit bubbles, not even spit up and she was done! Becca is fascinated with babies. She held each one as long as we let her.

Congratulations so the newly enlarged family of seven!

Uncle Schaun provided little KU caps to the newest family members.

Re-thinking

For anybody planning to attend Becca's birthday party, it is NOT going to be next weekend. My original plan was to have it next Sunday, but since I have failed to actually plan it, that isn't going to happen then. The 11th is her actual birthday and it is Mother's Day, so that day is out. The 18th seems like a good day, but that is my Gramma's birthday and family will want to go to the nursing home. The 25th is Memorial Day weekend and people generally have plans. This goes on. The next weekend is JUNE 1 and Kristin and Mark are moving that weekend. That puts us at June 8th.

So I could do it the afternoon of the 18th and hope that Gramma can be visited in the morning, or maybe waiting until June is better. If you care strongly one way or the other, let me know. I really want it to be when the most people can make it.

Dinner

Last night I didn't want to make dinner and I had some Little Ceasar's build your own individual pizzas that I let the girls loose with. They thought it was a blast and it was fun to see how different they turned out. Bridget's was all perfect and flat while Becca made a tower.

A conversation with Becca

Today started with Bridget leaving for a playdate with the little girl that lives behind us. Becca was very distraught about her leaving. Very, very sad. After her heartbreaking crying spell ended, Daddy offered her some Combos (ewwww yuck) and that made her happy again. Later she told me "the pizza pretzels Daddy gave me made everything alright again"
Awwwwww, so sweet!

While Bridget was gone, Becca and I went and had lunch with my mom. For my birthday present, mom gave me cash since I don't have anything in mind that I actually want. On the way home from her house, this is the conversation I had with Becca:

Becca: Mommy are we going to buy your birthday present?
Me: No, we are going home.
Becca: What do you want to get for your birthday?
Me: I'm not sure yet.
Becca: How about a brace-a-let?
Me: Well, that would be a nice present.
Becca: How about a neck-a-lace? Do you want a neck-a-lace?
Me: That would be pretty too. I'm not sure what I want though.
Becca: How about a new ring? Do you have too many rings?
Me: Well, I have some, but I mostly just wear my wedding ring.
Becca: (very excited voice) You get rings when you marry your daddy?
Me: Well, you get a wedding ring at your wedding, but you don't marry your daddy. You marry a different boy that you love.
Becca: (without missing a beat) I love Caden.
Me: Becca, you are too young to get married.
Becca: I love Caden and I am getting older everyday.

In case you are new here, Becca usually wins in all her conversations.

Why to carry a camera at all times

I keep a small camera in my purse at all times. Some people think that is a little strange, but it has come in handy so many times. For example, today at Target. Target you ask. Yep, at Target. I went to make a return and while leaving the parking lot I saw the cutest car ever! It is a Hello Kitty VW Bug! How cool is that? It even had these super cute hubcaps and the license plate said Meow. Soooooo stinkin cute!
