A Perfect Day

Saturday was what I consider perfect weather. The temperature, no gusting winds, it was not humid, and there was perfect blue sky. I took the girls out to play. I couldn't believe they were not begging to go out. Becca is now able to pedal the tricycle, but can't seem to steer it at the same time. So it goes peddle, peddle, peddle, look up, see you are going into the grass, straighten up, then peddle some more. She is getting it though. She found this cute yellow hat and decided it would be her accessory for the day. She is so cute and funny.

I had a frightening glimpse of my future with Bridget. There is a boy down the street that she loves to play with. I limit her time with him because he doesn't seem to have good parental guidance and he gets rough and crazy. He is a year older than Bridget, so he is just bigger, and he wants to do boy things and the girls get hurt. Yesterday he was polite and nice, so we stayed and played instead of running to the backyard to escape him. They rode their scooters up and down the sidewalk a lot. Then they got tired and stopped at his house. They were just sitting there next to each other laughing and talking. It scared me. I could see her as a teen and it was really frightening. She loves boys and they love her. I'm thinking we should move to a rural country house or something.

Soccer

Bridget wanted to play soccer, so we signed her up. We should be half way thru the 6 week session, but due to weather, we played our first game Saturday. I can tell that she is just too nice to really excel at this. The coach told the girls to think about what they are doing and where they should be on the field. So when the ball came right to Bridget, with nobody around, she stood there long enough for someone to steal it. I asked her why she didn't dribble and run and she told me because the coach said to think and she was thinking. That made me laugh a little. Becca loves to go and watch. She sits and cheers for Bridget "go, Bridgy go! Kick and run!" So funny.

Tragedies

I have this sense of dread around my birthday every year.
Wacko and the Oklahoma City bombing both happened on my birthday.
Columbine happened on the day after.
Now this Virginia Tech shooting days before.

It makes me so sad.

Easter

Easter was fun this year. Saturday night we had my mom over for a dinner. We bought a Honey Beaked Ham, like we did last year. They are so yummy! After dinner we colored eggs. My mom wasn't so impressed with our imperfect, creative eggs, hahaha! The girls and I thought they were very pretty though. The Easter bunny came and left fantastic baskets for the girls! They were so excited when they got up. I have to note here that they must have had rough nights by the looks of the hair on both of them--so funny! Sunday we went over the Schaun's parents and the Easter bunny had left treats for us over there too! It was a good day.

When will all the sickness go away?

Generally we are a healthy family. Until today, neither of my girls have ever taken antibiotics. Dimetapp cures most all their ailments. This week Becca had an eye infection and we just got home from the doctor again and Bridget has strep throat. Schaun has his own issues and has been taking antibiotics and pain pills since January. I have not slept a solid 7 or 8 hours in so long that I cannot recall.

Becca the Builder

Becca is a terror in the bathtub with me. So, Schaun has taken over this horrid chore. When he gives the bath it is all fun and happy for them. Sunday he gave her a bath and sometime she begged him for a tool set. So we spent a good part of the day looking for the perfect tool set. Now for the past 2 days she will sit out in the driveway "fixing" this little bike.

Slumber Party

Last Tuesday was my brother and sister's birthday. Kristin believes that the day should be a national holiday. Well, she didn't get to go out on her birthday, but she made some big plans with her friends, so guess who came to spend the night with us lase night? Sawyer! It was a little more hectic than I thought it would be. Sawyer was great. He was quiet, no crying and he slept peacefully. Now, my darling Becca was a different story. I'd say my sweetie was a little jealous. It seems she believes she is the baby of this house and she acted like it! Sawyer was asleep by 9:00 and didn't wake up until 2:00, I fed him and he went right back to sleep until 6:00. So considering I went to sleep around 10:30, I should have been well rested. That didn't happen. Becca kept getting out of bed. She whined, she cried, she screamed at the top of her lungs! I cannot believe she didn't wake Sawyer up or for that matter, the whole house. So when Kristin and Mark came to pick him up this morning, I was ready to keep him and send Becca. Okay, not really, but it was a long night.

Honestly, if there was any doubt, and there wasn't, keeping Sawyer would have sealed the deal on any more babies from me. I am 100% done. I don't have any inkling to have another. Schaun has been feeling doubt though. He REALLY wants a boy. Not that he doesn't worship the girls, but he has the desire still. After last night, he said he agreed with me. We are done with any doubts now.

Since it was so crazy I didn't get any good photo opts. These are the few I did get.
