Craig

Well, Craig's visit from London was way too short. He was a great sport with the girls. They really kept him running every chance they could. He found some great deals shopping and I hope he has suitcase space to get it all home. Schaun cooked up a huge feast in honor of Craig's visit. Everything was yummy as always and it was the best event ever as I didn't have to clean it up! My sisiter-in-law Wendy made these to-die-for caramel apples. They were HUGE and so yummy. I don't know if I will let her come to future parties without these from now on.

As a gift to Schaun, Craig gave him an apron for future BBQ-ing. Did you know that the British call an apron a penny?

Pumpkin Patch revisited

Bridget was off school Thursday and Friday. Thursday was parent teacher conferences. She got glowing reviews. She is thoughtful, attentive, and active in both her classes. After the meeting I took the girls back out to the pumpkin patch. It was a nice day, it wasn't too crowded this time, and I had time to kill. We stayed for three hours and had lots of fun. Becca was asleep before I had her buckled in the van on the way home.

Funny kids

Craig finally made it to our house tonight. The girls went nuts with excitement. Becca started putting on a little Becca show as only she can do. Bridget wanted to show off her room and all her jewelry. When they let Craig sit down, Bridget cozied up right next to him and wrapped his arm around her. So funny!

I was showing the girls the globe. I showed them where England is and how far it is between there and here. Becca wasn't so impressed. I doubt she understands the globe concept yet. She was spinning it around, but not just to see it spin. I could tell she was looking for something. I asked and she told me she was looking for Fairytopia. That took me off guard and made me laugh. (In case you don't live in the land of Disney Princess and Barbie like me, Fairytopia is a Barbie movie.)

A Brief History of Painting

I case you want to know.....In my previous post, there is a book on Bridget sleeping. This book is not your typical children's book. It is called A Brief History of Painting. I bought this for her because she loves to look at paintings. She likes me to tell her who painted them and we talk about the picture and the colors or shapes. I think it's interesting that she is fascinated with this.

Transformers

Last night we watched this movie. I went in thinking it would be like, eh, okay.
Wrong.

IT WAS SO GREAT! I loved it!
I was surprised at how much I loved it!

While we watched the movie, we ignored (okay, not really) the girls (as much as they allow themselves to be ignored) while they played and played and it seems they could play no more. This is what we saw when we pried our eyes off the movie.

Neglected

My poor blog. I was a little busy last week and just never stopped to post here. I spent one morning at Becca's preschool helping the teachers with things they needed cut out. I figure my scrapbooking skills made me highly qualified for that job. On Thursday I went to the Holiday Mart with my mom and her cousin. It was great! I chatted with Santa and he decided on a great gift for my girls from one of the vendors. I'm very excited about it! Friday I went to the Creating Keepsake Convention that was in town. I took one class that was really fun and did a little shopping there. I found a few different items and a bargain on some flowers. Then I had to run to the Page and collect a huge pile of things for a class I am teaching today.

Just some Becca

New outfit, new shoes, needs new photos.

Rain+Canopy=Trash

The pop-up canopy (that was still up from the carnival a week ago) didn't live through the thunderstorm Friday night. I guess we could call it a new, funky jungle gym.

Pumpkin Patch

Friday we went to a pumpkin patch because Bridget didn't have school. It was crazy busy but the weather was great. I usually get some of my favorite photos of the year at the pumpkin patch, but it was just too busy for that. I was too worried about losing my kids in the chaos. It was still fun though! I want to go back again. I hope the girls do too.

Random things about me

1. I love the smell of coffee but hate the taste of it.
2. I snack on potato chips and ketchup.
3. I have never tried beer or cigarettes.
4. I never make beds.
5. I am very cranky without a warm morning shower.
6. I don't know how to match shoes to my clothes.
7. I hate onions and can pick even the smallest ones out of my food faster than you can blink.
8. I don't eat the last corner bite of sandwiches.
9. I will get an instant headache from a sniff of a burning incense.
10. I talk a lot.

Shopping is FUN!

The other day when it was too cold to wear shorts and my well-worn tee shirts, I cringed at my lack of warmer clothes. I didn't really buy much anything new last year and I recently packed up a large amount of donations and got rid of my old stuff. So today, my mom, Bridget, Becca, and I went out shopping. My friend Anna hooked me up with a FANTASTIC coupon. I got so much and I saved so much!

I came home with 9 tops, 5 sweaters, 1 pair jeans and 2 pairs of shoes for me. For the girls I got 5 pairs of shoes, 3 pants, and 3 tops. And just so Schaun didn't feel totally left out, I got him some new tee shirts ( he is too picky for me to shop for him).

I have not shopped like this is ages and it was fun!

Now, bring on the colder days!

I'm so fashionable!

That is what Bridget told me after she got dressed today. She loves wearing these pink boots and her shirt has a sparkly butterfly, so all was right in her world. After checking herself in the mirror she asked if we could go take some pictures. I just live for those moments!

A "simple" chili dinner

A simple "I'm going to make chili for dinner" turned into a full blast carnival in our yard! It was so much fun! I am still wondering who had the most fun in the moonwalk--the children or the adults? And, if you want to make friends, get a cotton candy machine and start handing it out. Everybody loves it! I don't think I have ever seen my mother-in-law so happy as when she was making that candy!

Schaun did a spectacular job with the food. There was spicy and mild chili, chicken, sausage, hot dogs, cheesy hash brown potatoes, dips, chips, desserts, and smores.

There are so many pictures, and blogger mixes them up and it would take me too long to put them in better order. Enjoy!
