Fall Leaves

The other night we went out back and made a big leaf pile out of the very large leaves we have. Schaun just cleaned up the yard a few days earlier, but you couldn't tell from the leaves that were back there. Last year, Becca, would not have had any part of this. This year the girls were holding hands as they jumped into the pile. So much fun!

Blogging

Just a few months ago, my husband discovered that I had a blog and he didn't want me to be cooler than him, so he started his own. He takes his blog very seriously in the sense that he feels an obligation to inform and entertain the readers. Yesterday his blog job went to a new level.

Let me interject here that we have a gargantuan television. This is something that he had to have, the biggest television out there and we needed it all hooked up to HD things too. He loves this tv. When he comes home and passes by this huge thing he gives it a good look over to make sure I didn't damage it during the day. He chats with the girls for a while and then he hits the recliner, remote in hand, and settles in for the evening with the giant guide on his giant tv.

Last night, he went thru his routine, but he sat in the recliner and grabbed his laptop and not the remote! He was checking his email for requests from his blog for a Jayhawk song that people want. The tv wasn't on! He didn't even have the remote in his hand! I was in shock and I knew the blog had taken on a new position in his life.

Watch out giant television....you have a rival!

Delainey's Birthday

Delainey turned 13 on Saturday! 13! Wow! We had a little celebration with presents and cake at Gramma and Papa's house last night. The kids had a blast running and playing!

Welcome to the teen years Delainey (good luck to you Scott and Tonya)!

A Visit at my Mom's House

Sunday I went over to my mom's house because Kristin, Mark and Sawyer were there. Bridget and Becca were wild and crazy over there. The screaming laughter that comes out of those little bodies is ear piercingly amazing. Bridget has this pink dog toy that walks and barks and that was a big hit. Sawyer wanted to eat it and thought it was really funny when you tickled him with it.

I'm BORING

I drove the school taxi all week.
I did around ten loads of laundry.
I taught two classes.
I finished my class samples for the next quarter that were due a couple weeks ago.
I did not finish a swap I am in that was due yesterday.
I got my hair cut and colored.
I fed my family McDonalds, Boston Market, and PB&J sandwiches this week.
I finished a book I have been reading for weeks.
I have not taken a a single photo.

Are you asleep yet?

Legit reason for barking

We have two dogs. One used to be a great watchdog, but now she is getting old and misses a lot. The other is and always has been too lazy to care (but she is sweet). The old timer decides to randomly bark at things she must think she hears through the day. Most of the time I ignore her because I know it is nothing. Today, BOTH dogs were in the back yard and I could hear them barking nonstop. I took a little peak out the window to see what had them both in such an uproar and to my surprise there was actually a reason! There was a fox! He wasn't very cute, not very Fox and Houndish at all. I tried to get some pictures, but it was hard due to the fact that I was trying to balance on a wobbly fence and not scare it, and the blurry two are through the side window of my house.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween was so much fun this year! The weather was just right--not too terribly cold, just enough to put you in the spirit. The celebration started when Bridget got out of school. I think everybody knows this, but Becca was a penguin and Bridget was (in her words) a pretty, nice witch. The girls and Schaun actually laid on the guilt so thick that I felt obligated to dress up a bit too. At the last minute I ran out and got this huge witch hat and some cool stockings. I had enough black stuff at home to pull it off (keep all those comments about this to yourself please). We went to visit my Gramma at the nursing home first. The girls are always a big hit over there and put them in costumes and wow! all the folks wanted to hug them and just touch them. It is sweet, but Becca is not so hip to this.

After the visit with Big Gramma, we went home, hopped into the truck with Daddy and headed over to see Papa and Gramma. This is when the real fun starts because we trick or treat their neighborhood before heading home. Becca was not shy about this at all, she kept up with Bridget the whole night. At most houses Becca would do a little dance showing off her Happy Feet penguins skills. At one house she didn't dance and Bridget snapped at her "DANCE BECCA". They were just too cute! Before we left to gather all the sugar, Bridget was running around the yard (and I mean literally just running in circles) saying "this is the happiest I have ever been". So funny!

Before heading out on our adventures, I took a few shots at home.

Halloween Party

Bridget's school had a Halloween party Tuesday evening. It was lots of fun! They had activities in each room. There was cookie decorating, craft projects, a game room, and a monster mash dance room.

Look how accurate the girls were with getting that nose on the pumpkin!
